- There are over 10,000 people in Toronto who are homeless on any given night.
- Most people do not choose to be homeless, and the experience is generally negative, unpleasant, unhealthy, unsafe, stressful, and distressing.
- Studies indicate that up to 67% of homeless people report having a mental illness.
- Every year, 1 in 5 Canadians experiences a mental illness.
- Young people aged 15 to 24 are more likely to experience mental illness than any other age group.
- 94% of those experiencing homelessness in the Toronto area want permanent housing but face systemic or societal barriers, a lack of affordable and appropriate housing, the individual/household’s financial, mental, cognitive, behavioral, or physical challenges, and/or racism and discrimination
Our Program
- Providing nutritious meals and provisions to those in need
- Distributing food and school supplies through our Community Days
- Counseling services through one-on-one interventions
- Personal Development workshops include parenting and conflict management.
